The Glamour of the “Marilyn Monroe Moment”
The blonde curls, the voluptuous figure and the effortless elegance of 50’s actress Marilyn Monroe are still synonymous with vintage glamour and feminine charm nearly 50 years after her death at the young age of 36. During her all-too-short life, Marilyn Monroe was a model, actress and singer famed for her beauty and demure wit. She has since become a cultural icon admired by many modern-day celebrities.
Arguably the most famous image of Marilyn Monroe that comes to mind whenever her name is mentioned would be from the movie The Seven Year Itch, in which Marilyn Monroe wears a flowing white dress and air from a subway grating makes her skirt billow around her, exposing her famously beautiful and shapely legs. Since then the moment has been captured on countless Marilyn Monroe prints and reproduced on a variety of Marilyn Monroe memorabilia items.

Oscars 2010: red carpet review
Hollywood award shows strive to recognise and celebrate the best in television and cinema each year. But three hours of nominee naming and excessive thanking can be a little trying on Average Jane’s attention span. Especially since the main reason Average Jane is tuning in is to stare at her favourite actress stars as they sparkle in couture from her favourite designers (ok, and also to appreciate George Clooney in a tuxedo).
The Oscars and Golden Globes are two major events where everyone is looking to be looked at, and now that both are out of the way we can settle down and have a discussion.
